How My Full-Service Interior Design Process Works
01. It starts with a conversation
Every home tells a story. My job is to uncover yours.
We’ll begin by talking through the everyday realities of your home. How the rooms are used. The bits you love. What quietly frustrates. How mornings unfold. Where shoes and bags accumulate. The spaces you naturally gravitate to.
I’ll listen carefully to all your wishes. Even those thoughts and ideas that feel vague or half formed – perhaps it’s the pleasure of walking through the door after a demanding day and feeling your shoulders drop. Having a quiet corner to retreat to with a good book or a sociable kitchen that invites long, relaxed evenings with friends. However you imagine living, those small details really do matter.
From initial conversations, threads begin to emerge — your routines, your preferences, your aspirations. I gather these together and shape them into a clear, overarching design vision. This becomes our compass, guiding every decision that follows.
An intentional colour palette begins to take shape. The balance between practicality and beauty is carefully weighed. Harmony and flow are considered, room by room and across the house as a whole.

Once initial ideas are agreed, we begin to refine the vision into a workable design strategy:
Layouts are tested on plan, lighting and electrics are mapped out and, where needed, bespoke pieces are designed to fit your home as though they’ve always belonged there.
As rooms find their natural rhythm, details gather momentum. Flooring and hard finishes are specified. Colours are carefully balanced. Furniture and lighting is selected with intention. Everything playing its part in the whole story.
We immerse ourselves in fabrics, and upholstery. Layering texture and softness, ensuring everything feels cohesive, stylish and genuinely comfortable.
Along the way, we’re thoughtful about what stays. The pieces you own and love are honoured. Others may be reimagined or repurposed elsewhere in your home. New elements are woven in with care, so nothing feels imposed — only evolved. The result is a home that feels layered, personal and unmistakably yours.
Behind the scenes, we liaise with trusted contractors and skilled craftspeople, gathering quotations and shaping a clear, realistic investment plan so there are no surprises — only excitement.
Then, when each detail has been considered and resolved, we present the complete design scheme for your approval — before moving seamlessly into implementation.
03. Getting Stuck In
The implementation phase of my full design service protects your time and your headspace. Rather than juggling suppliers, schedules, and endless decisions, let me and my team take responsibility for this crucial phase of your project.
The true value of this phase is in the time, energy and headspace it saves you. We’ll handle the ordering and delivery process, ensuring each piece arrives safely and on schedule. You can feel confident that every detail is being expertly managed.
This phase of the project also includes all the behind-the-scenes coordination. I work closely with an established network of trades, professionals and suppliers who share my commitment to quality and attention to detail. Whether it’s the curtain maker, upholsterer, decorator, builder or electrician, we’ll ensure they have all the information they need to realise your vision and keep things moving forward.

In this phase, we’ll blend old and new with a few curated accents— Furniture is positioned, artwork is hung, lighting is adjusted, and accessories are layered to create depth and warmth. This is where atmosphere enters your house and it becomes a home.
